COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Farmers To Families
Food Box Program
The Mustard Seed Ministries is assisting with the second Community Food Distribution in Twin Falls County. We are partnering with The Idaho Food Bank in coordination with the USDA Corona-virus Food Assistance Program.
The City Of Twin Falls, The Twin Falls Police Department, and Twin Falls County are supporting this event with volunteers and a place to distribute the food. We want you to be aware of this event. If you, a family member, your neighbor, or someone you know in the community has a need for food assistance, please share or stop by.
Each family will receive two 25 pound boxes of fresh refrigerated food. One box contains a variety of dairy (milk, cheese, butter, etc) and pre-cooked meats (hams, sausage, etc). The other box contains produce items (a variety of fruits, salad greens, peppers, onions, and potatoes). Each family will also receive two 20 pound boxes of frozen meats and cheese. And each family will receive one case of Choboni yogurt. Everyone will receive the same food items.
The Farmers to Families Food Box Program is run by the USDA as a way to coordinate getting the overabundance of food from farmers and ranchers due to COVID-19, getting it to Food Banks, and then having it donated to the community.
The best part of the program is that there is no requirement nor documentation needed to get the food – if you need it you are able to get it.
