Saturday night found our own Jimmy Berkley not only in his Marine Corp League uniform presenting the colors but also one of the seven individuals/groups receiving the recognition he so rightly deserves. The Honor 365 Organization organization based in Utah presented Jimmy the Ten4 Responding Award for his support of the veterans in the Magic Valley.
The citation read:
“Jimmy served as Officer in the United States Marine Corp conducting elite special operations for 4 years.
He is very active in his community helping with the Toys 4 Tots program, serving as an officer in the American Legion, Chairman of the Joining Forces, offers counsel for other veterans, maintains two veteran cemeteries and is involved in many other veteran service organizations.
Jimmy is well known and respected in this community. People in town knows when Jimmy says he’s gong to do something it will get done.
Jimmy your community thanks you for supporting the veterans.”
In addition to the Ten 4 Responding Award presented by the Executive Director of Honor265, Melissa Sullivan, another member of Joining Forces, Twin Falls City Councilwoman Suzanne Hawkins presented Jimmy with a Certificate of Appreciation signed by Twin Falls Mayor Shawn Barigar. Congressman Mike Simpson also weighed in with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Honor365, a non profit organization, holds cause-driven events called Ten4 Responding.
We understand suicide is a concern for our nation. Ten4, which most people recognize among the military and first responder communities as “mutual understanding.” Thus, Ten4 Responding means that we have a mutual understanding and are responding to the suicide epidemic among military and first responders in our Nation.
The purpose of events is to recognize and support the efforts of our Veterans and First Responders. Proceeds for these events will fund mental wellness and resiliency programs for Veterans and First Responders.
